Your Mind Believes What You Tell It!
“You are what you think, all that you are arises with your thoughts and with your thoughts, you create the world.” – Buddha
A mind is a powerful tool. It has the ability to help shape our future and achieve incredible goals. Our brain tells our body what to do, but the mind has an interesting way of lying to us. It fools us into thinking we can’t do something when we actually can do so much more with our lives and in our businesses.
Your mind is like a powerful radio transmitter. It sends out thoughts (broadcasted by your brain) that it receives and acts upon. If you regularly fill your mind with negative thoughts, your actions will reflect a negative nature. If you fill it with positive thoughts, the actions that you take and the way that you live will be more positive.
Your Mind Believes What You Tell It
Today’s society is filled with a lot of negativity. The news is full of terror attacks and tragedies. There are trolls in every form of social media, and sometimes it feels like people only want to complain. It’s no wonder people are so eager to learn about positive thinking, and guess what? Any of us can achieve it. Positive thinking is a skill that anyone can develop by working on it a little bit every day.
Whether you want to be able to think positively in order to tackle some bad situations or just because it makes your life easier, here are the main benefits of positive thinking for you to consider.
If you don’t train your mind, it will get the best of you.
Happiness is a choice, both in our work life and in our personal life. The way we think shapes our reality — especially when it comes to stress, anxiety, and depression.
But here’s the thing, you’re not going to be positive all the time. You’re not going to be joyful all the time. You’re not always going to feel good about yourself either.
And that’s okay.
You don’t want to be a negative person, but your mind can get the best of you if you don’t train it.
If you’re constantly thinking negative thoughts, you’re going to be miserable. If you train your brain for positivity and happiness, then those thoughts will come easier.
I moved this to the top. It helped introduce the thought more fluidly.
Positive thinking doesn’t mean that everything is going to be rainbows and butterflies. It just means that we do what we can to actively change our mindset so that we can see more of those things that make us happy instead of focusing on those things that make us sad, angry, afraid, frustrated, worried, jealous, upset, bitter, resentful, vengeful, or any other negative emotions. (This was a run-on sentence. I just broke it up.)
You need to regularly train your mind to think positively.
The way you think is crucial to your success. If you believe that you can achieve great things, then you will. But if you believe that you’re doomed to fail, then chances are that’s what will happen. You need to regularly train your mind to think positively — and here’s how:
1) Become aware of negative thoughts and phrases. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop and examine the thought or phrase. Is it really true? Is there another way of looking at the circumstances? Is this a thought that can be changed?
2) Focus on positive words and images. Whenever possible, use positive words instead of negative ones when talking to yourself or others. Focus on positive images as well — such as pictures of smiling people or beautiful landscapes — when working on projects or personal goals.
3) Practice gratitude every day for at least five minutes in the morning or in the evening by listing three things for which you’re grateful (for example, “I am grateful for my family” or “I am grateful for my health”).

When you have negative thoughts, replace them with positive thoughts.
Try to do this every 10 minutes.
This is a simple but effective method that can be used in everyday life. It can be applied to anything, including your job, business, health or finances — whatever area you want to improve in your life.
If you want to improve your health, for example, then every time you think of something unhealthy (e.g., junk food), replace it with an image of something healthy (e.g., fruit). If you want to lose weight, then every time you think about overeating or eating unhealthy food, replace that thought with an image of yourself exercising or eating healthy food instead.
You can also use this technique when thinking about work-related issues. Every time you think “I hate my job” replace it with “I love my job” or “I like my job” instead.
You have a lot of control over what you think about, and your thoughts have a powerful effect on how you feel. Remember the mind is designed to focus on the negative. It believes what you tell it. So if you want to make positive changes in your life, it’s important to focus on thoughts that help you feel good.
If you want to be happy, don’t just think “positive” thoughts — think about what makes you feel good and do things that help you experience those feelings. For example:
- If you want to be more confident, spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself.
- If you want more energy, spend time doing things that energize you.
- If you want to improve your health and fitness, eat healthy food and exercise regularly (or take up an activity like yoga or tai chi).
Did you know that the mind processes information in mere thousandths of a second? That’s right. Thoughts are things, and they affect your life in every positive or negative way possible.
Your mind is a powerful tool that you can use to create the life you want. This is why it’s imperative to focus on thoughts that make you feel good because they will help you achieve your goals and dreams. You’re here because you want to change how your life is going, what you are doing, and achieve your goals along the way, right?
Congratulations on taking action!
